Project Description/ Scope of Works:This project involved the redevelopment of a property overlooking the Gulf of Paria, where an existing single-storey structure—over 50 years old—was demolished to make way for a modern two-storey residence designed to capture the site’s scenic views and maximize livable space.

Key Features:
Foundation & Structure:
The structural design integrates a raft/ribbed slab system with strip and pad footings, complemented by strategically placed load-bearing walls. This hybrid foundation approach was selected to maximize interior layout flexibility while maintaining high structural integrity.

Interior Optimization:
Load-bearing elements were positioned to negate the need for interior columns, creating open and adaptable living spaces across both floors—supporting modern living while ensuring long-term durability.

Site Works:
Extensive site preparation was undertaken, including demolition of the existing single-storey house and pool.

This project showcases how thoughtful structural engineering can bring together form, function, and environment—delivering a resilient, contemporary home that capitalizes on its coastal setting.
