ENGINEERED FORMWORK

A formwork system refers to the moulds used to hold concrete until cuing is achieved. Traditionally, formwork is built on site out of timber and plywood but can prove to be time consuming with a relatively short life span. The type of formwork used for projects are of great importance as it affects the overall cost and timeline for the project.

Due to creative modern architectural design and the extensive use of concrete as the most suitable construction material for buildings and foundations, modernization of formwork systems was essential to keep pace with concrete advancement.

What are Engineered Formwork Systems?

Engineered formwork systems are built out of prefabricated structures of steel, aluminium, timber, plywood and plastics. In an engineered formwork system, formwork now becomes classified as equipment versus materials as it can now be amortized over several projects.

The two major advantages of formwork systems compared to traditional formwork are-:

  • speed of construction
  • lower life cycle costs

SYMONS STEEL-PLY®
CONCRETE FORMING
SYSTEM

CPML Contractors Limited is the carrier for the Symons Steel-Ply® Concrete Forming System by Dayton Superior. The Steel-Ply forming system is pre-engineered, factory-built and reusable. It can form walls of almost any shape or size, with accessories for special structures and details. It is designed for maximum versatility and can be used to form virtually any concrete structure.

GEOPANELS

Geopanel is an easy-to-use modular reusable formwork made of recycled plastic, which is used for the construction of concrete walls, foundations, and columns.

The product’s wide range makes it easy to produce structures of any size and shape. It allows the production of walls of any thickness and height. The wall panels are made of ABS plastic that is very light and easy to handle on the worksite.

The formwork can also be used to build roof slab systems, stairwells, and elevator shafts. The panel’s weight is only 11 kg, the installation and dismantling are very fast. The operations can be repeated quickly on various floors of the building. The formwork’s manageable size is ideal for use inside of buildings or in areas that may be inaccessible to lifting devices.

Advantages

  • modular and versatile on-site
  • patented handles in nylon for an excellent locking of the panels
  • easy dismantling and quick cleansing just with water
  • high resistance (60 kN/m2) and duration of the panels
